Matt Avital was born and raised in Long Island, New York, and has spent the last decade working in the multifamily asset space through a variety of different capacities. He leverages his vast experience in development, acquisitions, and lending to innovate and come up with creative ways to solve challenging real estate problems and add value to his partner’s businesses.

In 2018 Matt moved to Los Angeles and founded Ascenda Capital. Before founding Ascenda Capital, Matt worked as a principal at a private real estate investment company in New York City. Matt has closed more than $1 billion in transactions across acquisitions, development, and financing throughout his career. Matt lives in Los Angeles, CA with his wife and two kids.
